Review of last month: July 2022
This month, I would especially focus on three areas:
Academics:
- Finalize the second draft for the journal paper (revise Introduction, revise Results, discuss Discussion with Prof. Yokota)
- Finish writing on OECT for Neuroscience class
- Prepare FSE presentation
Other books:
- Continue Latin NM (Most) daily (little by little, consistent learning is the goal).
- Continue Modern Philosophers (Kreeft). I safely limit my goal to read about Kant this time. It will be great if I can make it to reach Hegel.
- Practice journaling my thoughts — start easy by doing it on the weekend days!
Health:
- Walk 10,000 steps/day, 8.0 km walking distance (tracked with Fitbit!)
- Sleep well before 10 PM — achieve 5 out of 7 days. This mission is actually crucial.
Some comments: I noticed that sometimes my principle of discipline and perseverance to achieve goals are crucial to undertake some major checkpoints in my life, but they may also inhibit some creative processes. I like the comment from Origen of Alexandria, “create plans, but let God also get into the plan (with His own way!).” Nonetheless, I would monitor carefully how my justification with ‘creativity’ stands for these two weeks.
